Purpose |
| To represent the interests of the residents, both owners and renters, businesses and churches located in the Franklin village area of Hollywood. This group seeks to better it's neighborhood through working together to clean up our area, work with City leaders to address issues that affect our neighborhood, and to involve itself in discussions about the development of Hollywood Boulevard as well as other important issues as they arise. |
Boundaries |
Extends East and West along Franklin Avenue from Cheremoya Avenue(including Cheremoya Elementary) to Wilton Place. Extends North and south from Foothill Drive to Hollywood Blvd.
Note: Franklin Village is south of the Oaks, east of Beachwood Canyon, west of Eastwood Coalition and North of Little Armenia. While some have claimed to reresent the area, the experience of the people within Franklin Village is that none of those associations leadership comes from here and that they share different concerns and personal goals that are not shared by the people who reside and own businesses here. |
History |
| The Franklin Village name first arose in 2003 as part of the second-annual Franklin Avenue Street Fair. The term was meant to invoke the sense of community that those of us who live around the 5900 block of Franklin Avenue feel. We have everything that a person could want out of a neighborhood, an elementary school, fire station, grocery store, restaurants, coffee house, bookstore and other various shopping outlets. And they are all within walking distance. Few neighborhoods enjoy the resources that we share. We recently were acknowledged as an official neighborhood within the city. |
Get Involved |
| We can be found on the web at FranklinVillage.net and FranklinVillage.org. We will work to keep the neighborhood informed of important events that affect the area and notify our residents of meetings. For additional information please email us here. |
